NYC Radio Software Firm Shows Deep Industry Roots
White Plains, NY -- January 16, 2006– For the third consecutive year, radio software leader RCS. has been listed in the Crain's New York Business magazine's annual ranking of "New York's Largest Software Companies". The publication regularly tracks companies in a wide variety of fields and publishes results in annual charts.
This year, RCS ranks #23 among the list of notable technology firms such as IBM (#1) and Computer Associates (#2). In compiling their results, Crain's surveys companies from the five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island), adjacent Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties in New York, plus Bergen, Hudson, Union and Essex counties in New Jersey.
Interestingly, while 14 of the 25 companies are based in Manhattan, top-ranked IBM along with RCS are two of only three companies listed claiming NYC suburb Westchester County as their headquarters.
"We take pride in our developers," remarks Dr. Ted Nygreen, GM/CTO at RCS. "Many of them have been with RCS for over 10 years, which means there's not only a high degree of continuity and reliability among our people but, by extension, throughout our entire suite of software products."
"Innovation and new development have always been the raison d'être for RCS since its creation 27 years ago," adds RCS President Philippe Generali. "And year after year, they continue to be part of our vision."
Crain's ranks the top firms based on the number of full-time developers. Their lists are published regularly in print and are available from their web site, www.crainsny.com.
